He was born on August 7, 1969 in Mosafejo area of Ajegunle, Lagos State but grew up as a child in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Saheed Osupa studied at Amuwo Odofin High School in Lagos, where he graduated in 1987. In 1992, he holds a National Diploma certificate from The Polytechnic, Ibadan after studying Business Administration. He is an alumnus of the American International College where he studied Networking Operations.
He started music professionally as a teenager in 1983. His first album was titled, "Fuji Fa Disco". He has released over 28 studio albums including a 4-in-1 studio album titled, "Mr. Music". In 2008, Saheed Osupa was declared the "King of Fuji Music" by the late Ayinde Barrister.
The King of Music has featured in well over 30 Yoruba films. His awards include; "Yoruba Academy Awards as Best Fuji Musician of the Year 2013 and City People Entertainment Awards as Best Fuji Musician of the Year 2015 amongst others.
