BEB Series Season 2 - Episode 4: The End

If you missed the  previous episodes read,  HERE, HERE, and HERE.

After the introduction, I realized I was soon going to be a father. The onus would now lie on me to be responsible for my unborn child and my girlfriend. It was really a difficult time because I didn’t know much about parenting that time.

But I just kept it all to myself and took it as my cross, after about a year, I got used to taking care of my baby girl and my girlfriend. I tried all my best to make my girlfriend happy and provide for our daughter, Magret.

In a bid to make ends meet to support our daughter, I worked with my Uncle's friend who had a gas station. The only job he could offer me was to follow his tankers anywhere they were going to load and off load.

Yes, I did it at least to make sure I could provide them their necessary needs. However, it wasn’t like our parents neglected us but they just felt we should know the implication of our deeds.

Despite the struggle to fend for our daughter, I didn't allow this to affect my education and I finished my Bsc successfully.

After my graduation, my Dad called me and told me we should plan towards our wedding by that time Maggy was already six years old.

Some months later, when we had already printed out our wedding IV and it remained only for distribution, I got to know Tope was already dating somebody else behind me and I felt so bad, disappointed and angry she could do such a thing.

You won’t believe she actually introduced the guy to me as her friend and sometimes the guy would even call me to say hi. When I confronted her, she didn’t deny it and this was what separated us till today.

As I’m typing this, Tope is now happily married to another guy, not even the one that broke our relationship, and they have a son together. As luck would have it, Tope gave birth to her son on my birthday. Then, I later heard she named the boy after me.

Our daughter, Magret is now in the UK studying and she comes home once in a while on her holidays.

This is my story. Thanks for reading.
