Mohamed Salah named BBC African Footballer of the Year 2018
The 26-year-old beat Medhi Benatia, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sadio Mane and Thomas Partey to the prize.
The Premier League's player of the year scored 44 goals in 52 games for Liverpool last season.
"It's a great feeling to win again. I'm happy and I would like to win it also next year!" said Salah.As well as inspiring his club to the Champions League final, Salah scored twice for Egypt at this year's World Cup, having netted both goals in the match which took his country to the tournament for the first time since 1990.
"There have been many good moments in 2018," he added.
"The game against Roma at Anfield [Champions League semi-final first leg] was unbelievable. I'm scoring goals and helping the team to get the points to be top of the league. That's always a great feeling."Salah said his aim for 2019 is "to win something with the club so everyone is excited".
"I try to push myself every day to help the team win something," he added.The BBC received more than 650,000 votes this year a record for the award.
Salah becomes the first player since Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha to win in consecutive years.
Ronaldo's penalty settles Turin derby in favour of Juve

Canelo stops brave Fielding
The Mexican star stepped up in weight to challenge Fielding, who was floored in every round before the fight was waved off, as Alvarez claimed a version of a world title in a third division.
Fielding was making the first defence of the belt he won by stoppage against Tyron Zeuge in July and the Liverpudlian was troubled by a sustained body assault from the start at Madison Square Garden.
In the opening round, Fielding had attempted to take the centre of the ring, but was soon sent to his knees by a crunching shot to the ribs from Alvarez, and had to withstand more heavy punishment before the bell.
With Alvarez digging in more body shots, Fielding bravely stood and traded in the second, only to be sent back down to the canvas by another punch under his elbows.
Fielding tried to answer with his own flurries in the third, but Alvarez packed too much power as a right hook dropped the Liverpudlian heavily and the referee mercifully called a halt after he was floored again by a left hook to the body.
"Fortunately for me, he came to attack, and that was the error he made, but I did my thing in there," said Alvarez.
"That was the plan in the gym, that was the plan to hit the body, then move up and that's the result, you see the result here.Alvarez reiterated that he is open to a third fight against Gennady Golovkin following his stoppage victory.
WTA gives increased protection for returning mothers on tour for 2019
Players coming back from childbirth, or injury, will now be able to use their previous ranking to enter 12 tournaments over a three-year period.
But Serena Williams' wish for returning mothers to be seeded in line with that ranking has not been granted.
The WTA has instead decided to guarantee they will not face a seeded player in a tournament's opening round.
As things stand, players must begin their comeback within two years, and then have a further year in which they can enter eight events under their protected ranking - the ranking held at the start of their absence.
Those rules also apply to players returning from injury.
But there is no protection in place for seedings, with tournaments able to use their own discretion to seed players.
A seeding allows tournaments to ensure the world's best players do not meet in the early stages of competitions and instead play lower-ranked players in the opening rounds.
Williams returned to the sport in February after giving birth in 2017 and was not seeded at the French Open, her first Grand Slam appearance since her return, but was given a seeding of 25 for Wimbledon, despite being outside the top 32 in the rankings.
The WTA's rule change comes after the organisation canvassed the opinions of players earlier in the year.
