Osun lnformation Officers have been enjoined to widen their scope in news writing and reporting through the use of social media platforms. This was made known at the continuation of one month long training programme for lnformation officers in the State.
The training which was held at the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Conference Hall, Abeere had in attendance, the Honourable Commissioner for lnformation & Stategy, Mr Adelani Baderinwa, Coordinating Director of Ministry lnformation & Strategy, Mrs Femi Webster-Esho and the two guest speakers, Osun Special Adviser on lnformation & Stategy, Mr Semiu Okanlawon and the CEO of Rave Fm, Mr Femi Adefila.
In her welcome address, the Coordinating Director of lnformation and Strategy, Mrs Femi Webster-Esho welcomed the two guest speakers who she said it is a rare privilege to have such seasoned Journalists to come and deliver lectures and share from their wealth of experience.
ln his paper, Mr Semiu Okanlawon reiterated the fact that lnformation Officers need to be proactive in the discharge of their duties while Mr Femi Adefila went down memory lane as to how Journalism started and the need for lnformation officers to be abreast of developments in the new media.
In his closing remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for lnformation & Strategy, Mr Adelani Baderinwa thanked the guest speakers and enjoined lnformation officers to make very good use of social media in the discharge of their duties.
