The State Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade gave the admonition today in his separate address to Principals and teachers of Laminisa Middle/ High School and Alajue Middle/ High School in the rural areas of Edeland.
He reminded them that, in view of the fact that, the external examinations would be starting in four months time, they should begin to engage final year students with assignments that are of WAEC and NECO standards.
Dr. Oyebade explained that, if sufficient assignments are given to students before they sit for the examination, they would have covered specific areas where questions are inevitable, thereby enhancing their performances.
While advising them to concentrate their teaching efforts on final year students, the Head of Service further enjoined WAEC examiners among them to share their marking guides with the young ones so that they can be adequately equipped to teach in line with WAEC specifications.
In an interview with the PTA Chairman of Laminisa Middle/ High School, Mr. Tajudeen Alabi who was around to receive Dr. Oyebade and his team, he described the mission as very encouraging not only to teachers and students, but also to parents, declaring that it is the first time in Osun when the Head of Service would be teaching in village schools.
On the entourage of Dr. Oyebade were the three Permanent Secretaries/ Tutors-General in Osun West, East and Central Education Districts, Mrs Grace Ajiboye, Mr. Adelani Aderinola and Mr. Anthony Famoriyo who also taught English Language, Physics and Geography respectively. The Director Senior Management Services, Mr. Najeem Akintola was also part of the team.
