Aregbesola Congratulates Nike Okundaye On Her Installation As Yeye Agbasaga(Photos)

The Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has congratulated Chief Mrs. Monica Adenike Okundaye popularly known as Nike Arts Gallery on her installation as the Yeye Agbasaga Aladire - Aro of Osogbo.

The Governor who was represented by the Coordinating Director of Ministry of Information, Home Affairs, Tourism and Culture, Mrs. Olufemi Webster-Esho appreciated the newly installed Chief for her contributions to the development of arts and culture in Nigeria and Osun in particular. The ceremony held at the pavilion of the Ataoja of Osogbo.

The Governor said that Osogbo has always been a veritable ground for arts and culture as the City has produced prominent cultural icons in the like of Duro Ladipo, Chief Yemi Elebubon, Chief Sunday Adegeye popularly known as Sunny Ade among others.

Ogbeni Aregbesola saluted the leadership quality of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye11 for recognizing and honouring excellence in her. 

He, however, advised the young ones to take cue from the newly installed Yeye Agbasaga Aladire - Aro of Osogbo by looking inwards on how they can establish themselves without necessarily running after white collar jobs.

In her thank you speech, Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye appreciated the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for identifying with her by sharing in her joy. She also thanked Ataoja of Osogbo for the honour done her.

Highlights of the activities to mark this year's Osun Osogbo festival was a cultural dance, arts and crafts exhibition, traditional wrestling and showcasing of traditional food cuisine organised by the State Ministry of Information, Home Affairs, Tourism and Culture held at the Freedom Park, Osogbo.
