History was made in the ancient city of Ile-Ife today, December 7, 2015, as the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II officially received his staff of office from the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola amidst pomp and pageantry.
In attendance at the epoch making ceremony were the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, APC national leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande. Others were Governors of Oyo state, Lagos state and the host Governor, Rauf Aregbesola and his wife, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola while Deputy Governor, Otunba Grace Titi-Laoye Tomori was also present. Members of the national and state house of Assembly were not left out.
Also in attendance were traditional rulers, which included the Sultan of Sokoto, the Oba of Agbo and other eminent traditional rulers from Osun and other states.
The mammoth crowd also included Captains of Industries, Former Governors, the crème de la crème and people from different walks of life.
In his response, the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II who spoke ex-tempore promised to bring development to Ile-Ife, Osun state and Nigeria as a whole. He highlighted a number of developmental activities as part of his agenda to transform Ile-Ife.
