BEB Series Season 3 – Divine Union

The day I would never forget in a hurry, was the day I was heading to my office one early morning when one Range Rover jeep suddenly splashed stagnant dirty water on my dress. I was so angry and even thought he would wait to apologize and before I could say Jack he was gone. He left me no choice but to hurry back home to change my outfit.

On getting to the office, I explained to my boss why I came late and since it wasn’t in my usual habit to come late to the office, he pardoned me and asked me to go work on some files and I left immediately. As soon I was done with the files, I returned it to my boss before heading out for lunch.

There’s one “mama put” along my office I normally go to anytime I couldn’t make out time to cook before leaving home. So, I ordered my usual, Jollof rice and assorted meats with a chilled bottle of Coke. While I was busy enjoying my meal, my boss called me to come over to the office. I quickly rushed my meal to go to the office.

On getting to the car park section, I noticed the type of the Range Rover jeep that splashed dirty stagnant water on me but since I wasn’t quite sure of the number plate, I went in.

When I got to my boss’s office, my boss introduced me to a man who goes by the name, Folu Ibiyemi. My boss said further, “Mr. Folu and you will be handling the construction of the new estate project on Banana Island.

Did I tell you my company handles most of the housing estate projects on the Island? It must have skipped my mind, I responded, “I will do my best sir”. Mr. Folu and my boss continued chatting while I went back to my desk.

My mind kept telling me Folu was the same man who splashed the dirty rain water. So, in order to clear my mind and get that apology I deserved from him.

When I saw him walking out of my boss’s office, I stylishly asked if by chance he passed through Ikeja around 6:45am and he said, “Yes I did, why?” Well, I guess unknown to you, because you were so much in a hurry you splashed stagnant water on me along that road this morning.

He just said, “I’m very sorry for what happened, I was trying to catch up with a client before he left the airport.

I responded, it’s okay but under one condition, you will explain to my boss that you were the one who made me come late to the office and he said sure if that was what I want, no problem.

We entered my boss’s office together and he said he wanted to apologise to my boss for making me come late because he mistakenly splashed dirty water on my dress and my boss was like, so Mr. Folu you were the one? And he said, “Yes, it was because I was rushing down to meet a client”.

Since then, Folu started making passes at me while we’re on construction sites and he would stare and stare till I catch him looking at me. I won’t lie to you there was something about Folu I just can’t explain. He’s such a charming and fun guy to be with.

I could remember one time like that he called me and said, “Babe wassup?” and I said, “I’m good and you?”, “I’m good sunshine, how about us hanging out over dinner this coming Friday?” and I was like, “I’m sorry I won’t be available”. But he insisted and took me to the “Lagoon restaurant” on the Island. I ordered for strawberry ice cream before eating Lebanese bread with meat sauce garnished with cucumber. I enjoyed it all the way, most especially the serene environment and the splendor.

After the dinner, he said he would like us to do it again but this time it would at his favorite restaurant “Yello Chilli”. Who doesn’t like free food? Lol. I said, “No problem, but he would come and pick me up or else I ain’t going nowhere with him” and true to his words he came to pick me up at my Ogba residence. I ordered for plantain with vegetables and shrimps while he went for his favorite, spicy Jollof rice and chicken with a bottle of Champagne. I loved the taste of the food and the DJ was on point with melodious songs.

When we got to my residence, he turned off the car’s ignition and I was about getting out of his jeep, when he suddenly grabbed my face and planted a kiss on my lips. He immediately apologized for his actions and I told him he shouldn’t have. He then said, “Why don’t I spend the night at his place?” and I said, “It won’t be this night but tomorrow I would”. He was so excited hearing about my sleeping over at his place the following day.

The next day, I woke up, prayed and did my laundry and was about making breakfast when my phone rang. I checked my phone’s screen and it was Folu. I said, “Hi” and he responded, “Hello darling! How was your night? Did you dream of me?”, “I’m fine thank you and you?”, “I’m definitely fine sweet”. “Sweetie, will you still sleep over at my place this night? “Yes, I will if you don’t ask me again”. He apologised, “It’s okay” I muttered.

Around 8pm in the evening, he called he was at my gate and I told him, he should give me 5 minutes to join him. I locked my door and when I entered his car, he complemented on my gown and said it looked exquisite on me,  “thanks” I said.

Folu’s house was very beautiful; he had a garden and a swimming pool beside his 5 bedroom mansion and a gateman’s house. You needed to see the interior decoration when he was showing me round the house, it was nothing short of amazing if you would ask me. Then we got to the last and his favorite part of the house, his bedroom.

He just said, “at this junction, I would need you to close your eyes with this blindfold placed at the door’s handle”, “ no way!” I said but he insisted and I obliged.

I entered the room and he asked me to remove my blindfold. I was shocked when I saw his room with rose flowers littered round the room with lighted candles placed in beautiful mini cups, there and then, I saw a small wrapped gift on the bed.

He just said, “Sweetheart, would you do me the honours to open the wrapped gift? I just said, “Why?”. I want you to see what is inside by unwrapping it, he said. Okay then, I opened it and yes it was a diamond encrusted ring.

He knelt down and said, “Sade, will you marry me? Yes, I will” and he slit the ring right through my middle left finger and we ended up where your imagination could carry us.

Folu and I finished the Banana Island construction project and I submitted my final report to my boss. I later announced to my colleagues and boss, I was getting married. It was a beautiful wedding and I got pregnant two months after the wedding.

We went for a scan and I realized I was carrying twins. Folu relocated me to the US to deliver our babies and I gave birth to a boy and a girl.
