Man Accused Of Raping Two Women Same Time, Robs Eight In Osun

A 27-year-old man, Festus Oyetola has been arraigned before a High Court in Osogbo for allegedly raping two women, Oladoyin Oluwafikao and Adetoro Christianah at the time and robbing eight other people.

Oyetola was accused of committing this offense at Moro, Ipetu area, State of Osun on the 27th November 2012 with some other persons who ran away after the incident and has not been caught by the Police.
He was heavily armed when having carnal knowledge with Oladoyin Oluwafikao and Adetoro Christianah respectively.

According to the charge sheet of the court, thirteen charges were counted against him, and that
he committed all the crimes the same time, same place and same day.

The charge sheet reads that the accused committed an offense of armed robbery, eight offenses of robbery of property and cash valuing #101,900, two charges of rape and another two of indecent assault.

He was said to have committed offenses contrary to the criminal code Cap R vol II Law of Federation of Nigeria,Cap34 vol II law of State of Osun and section 358 Cap 34 vol II law of the State of Osun.

Oyetola pleaded not guilty of all the thirteen count charges and his efforts to express himself before the court were abortive.

It was gathered that Oyetola was 23-years-old when he was arrested by the Nigerian Police on 29th November, 2012 and his gang members are yet to be arrested.

He initially appeared before a magistrate court but was referred to the high Court because the charges against him are are criminal and not within the jurisdiction of a magistrate court and has since then
being remanded at Ife Prison, State of Osun.

Attempts to secure his bail has since then been denied by the Justice of the High Court, Justice Eunice Awolalu who is presiding on his case.

The Justice adjourned the case to the 13th of April, 2016.
