A serious crisis is now brewing in the Ondo state Council of Traditional rulers over the decision of some traditional rulers to challenge their non membership in the council.
A group of non Grade A members who are resisted from being members of the council are currently challenging the composition of the council of traditional rulers in the state.
The aggrieved monarchs under the umbrella of "DE 130 Krowns Club" also challenged their alleged marginalization by the first class monarchs in their domains, alleging that the marginalization was aided by the state government.
At a Press conference addressed by the concerned traditional rulers, not less than 50 of the aggrieved monarchs, who were not in Grade A Obaship cadre faulted the position of the state government on the council of traditional rulers in the state.
Chairman of the group who is also the Aladeokun of Idanre, Oba Olusegun Akinbola, the Owa-Ale of Ikare-Akoko, Oba Samuel Adegbite-Adedoyin and the Olupe of Ipe-Akoko, Oba Francis Apata while addressing newsmen said they resulted to address a press conference when all attempts to meet with Governor Olusegun Mimiko to address
their plight were frustrated in the last one year.
The monarchs said their grievances including lack of official vehicles and the official quarters should have been channeled through the State Council of Obas, but for the composition of the body which, they alleged is lopsided and the alleged irrelevance of the council to address the plight of members.
The traditional rulers appealed to Governor Mimiko to intervene in their plight and call the Grade A monarchs to order in the interest of their welfare.
