The State Government of Osun has prohibited the sales and burning of fireworks and other explosive devices throughout the state for security reasons especially during this Christmas and Yuletide season.
The prohibition order is contained in a statement signed on behalf of the State Government by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Mr Tope Adejumo.
The Special Adviser to the Governor explained that the prohibition order became imperative in order to protect lives and property especially because of the harmattan/dry season which can aid the destructive burning of property.
He then pointed out that all security agencies have been put on alert to deal decisively with any person or groups caught violating this government prohibition order.
