Messi stars in Barcelona’s Copa del Rey win

Barcelona scored four goals in 12 minutes - including a brilliant strike from Lionel Messi - to thrash Athletic Bilbao and win the Copa del Rey.

Barca were frustrated until the 60th minute when Antoine Griezmann turned in Frenkie de Jong's cross before De Jong headed in himself three minutes later.

Messi then drove from his own half, exchanged twice with De Jong and found the bottom corner for Barca's third.

Messi added his second four minutes later, sweeping in Jordi Alba's cross.

Victory gives Barca their first trophy under manager Ronald Koeman and their first silverware since 2019.

"We have the first one and now we are going to fight to the last game in La Liga."

For Athletic is was a second Copa del Rey final defeat in two weeks after they lost to Real Sociedad in the delayed 2020 final on 3 April.

Musa rejoins Kano Pillars after 11 years

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has rejoined Kano Pillars for the remainder of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Musa joins Sai Masu Gida for the rest of the season, 11 years after he first featured for the club.

The 28-year-old previously played for the Pride of Kano in 2009, and ended the season as the top scorer in the NPFL with 18 goals, before a move to VVV Venlo in the Dutch Eredivise.

He went on to feature for CSKA Moscow, Leicester City and Al Nassr.

According to a club statement signed by the media officer of the team, Idris Malikawa, an agreement was reached with the player after due consultations with the League Management Company.

Coleman's ban reduced but will still miss Olympics

World 100m champion Christian Cleman had his two-year ban for breaching anti-doping whereabouts rules reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Friday but will still be ineligible for the Tokyo Olympics.

Coleman's ban, which was due to run until May 13 2022, will now end on November 14, meaning he will miss the Games which take place from July 23 to August 8, but can return to competition in time to defend his world indoor and outdoor titles next year.

The American sprinter had been handed a two-year suspension by an independent tribunal of track and field's Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in October last year.

Wembley would be ideal for Fury fight - Joshua

Anthony Joshua says Wembley Stadium would be the "ideal" venue when he faces fellow British champion Tyson Fury in their world heavyweight clash.

A two-fight deal between the pair was signed last month but the venue and date has not yet been announced.

Joshua said finding the right venue in a global pandemic had caused the delay.

"We want to have people coming to the venue. It's just finding the right location. For me, Wembley would be ideal," he said.

Joshua, 31, beat Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley in 2017 and Alexander Povetkin there the following year.

The fighters' representatives are understood to be looking at several offers to host the fight, with Saudi Arabia considered a front-runner.

Earlier this week, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn told iFL TV: "We have had an offer that we are all happy with.

"We have an offer that both fighters, both teams, accept. We are now closing that contract with that site."

Joshua's IBF, WBO and WBA titles and Fury's WBC belt will all be on the line in the first contest for all four major belts at heavyweight.
