An Osogbo customary court on Tuesday, dissolved seven year marriage over husband's constant threat to pour acid on his wife.
The wife, Mrs. Azeez Fatima who dragged her husband, Mr. Afeez Ganiyuto court accused him of constant beating and improper care of her and their two kids.She also added that her husband does not give her peace of mind in the house as he was always beating her and recently threatened to pour acid on her for no reason.
Her words" Although our family helped us settle the last fight we had, he won't stop beating me and even threw my belongings out of the house last week Sunday, asking me to leave his house and never come back"
Ganiyu however denied the accusations and claimed that he only beat her whenever she does not heed to his warnings.
His words "she is always the cause of our fights, she associates with the wrong people and always incites my anger. I don't beat her for no reason as she is claiming."
He supported the divorce and said Fatima has caused a lot of headache for him and his family.
Ganiyu’s father who was present in court, Mr Ganiyu Aremu said the whole family does not want Fatima as the wife of their son any longer, as she has no respect for them.
The president of the court, chief Nasiru Odelola on the couple's insistence, dissolved the marriage with immediate effect.
