Today on TELAWAA(The English Language Academy With Ayo Alonge), we would be looking at a word.
Just today, someone wanted to start a chat with me and as usual of most people, she said:
"Hello"
I replied by saying "hello". and next thing she said was
"Hi".
What do you see wrong with that?
CAUTION: To a native speaker of English, the response to "hello" is "hello", not "hi".
I even hear most teachers say "hello oooo" to their students/pupils and those ones too would say "hiiiiii".
Sorry, that is incorrect!
When you hear "hello", the response is "hello", not "hi".
